1X04When an ex-abductee's daughter, Ruby Morris disappears mysteriously from her family's camp, her mother claiming she was abducted by aliens, no one is interested saying Ruby is a troublemaker and that she ran off with her boyfriend.

Mulder takes interest in this case and when they find Ruby's alleged boyfriend buried in the woods it seems more than an everyday teen relationship. But Ruby's younger brother starts drawing pictures consisting of 0's and 1's (binary code) which he claims he pulled off the TV. They seem completely innocent until when analysed, Mulder and Scully find there is information contained within this code that breaks into the National Security Administration which no everyday person could have known.

Mulder puts 2 and 2 together and realizes that this boy may be the 'conduit' to telling Mulder the whereabouts of his long-lost sister Samantha. But the boy and the boy's mother have been taken into custody which leaves Mulder with no hope, especially when the mother is completely uncooperative with his search for the truth.

Mulder and Scully decide to check out their appartement and find a caravan with a singed top and a massive map of 0's and 1's which draw out the picture of Ruby. M & S track down Ruby's mother and her son at the same camp site where they finally find Ruby unconscious. She has apparently spent the last few days on a bike ride. But her results show she has been suspended in a place with no gravity for a very long time. Just when she is about to tell Mulder the truth, her mother interrupts and stops the interrogation. Another near-miss for Mulder!

Another superb installment. The first series seems to be the best so far! Mulder's quest for the truth continues with this episode and with DD's superb performance you can feel the anxiety he feels to locate his sister. The writing is also fantastic and the cliff hanger we are left with near the end is one where you just have to find out more! Unfortunately, you don't. Oh well...
Nitpicking
Wow! The only episode so far not to have a SINGLE problem wrong with it. Now that's writing skills for you.
