1X14When a serial sex killer is killing both men and women, Mulder and Scully are completely intruiged wondering whether they are dealing with a tranvestite or bisexual. But how many of these can be seen entering an appartement as a woman and leaving as a man?

M & S travel up to where these strange happenings are occuring where they stumble across a small and strange religious cult who seem to be able to excite the victim, eventually killing them. Well that's what at least one of them can do. Scully is almost seduced by one of the members but a lucky return by Mulder prevents this. Scully wonders what exactly happened then. I mean, this is The X-Files. Scully isn't supposed to go out with anyone or have a relationship.

Nearby residents inform the two agents of the cult's whereabouts so M & S trek all the way up there to follow up this lead. They discover a very strange place indeed. Women are hanging laundry in the rain, men are chopping wood in the rain and they are cutting grass to ly on wet ground. Something spooky is happening!

They get invited to dinner but are quickly asked to leave for some unknown reason. Mulder wants to why so he returns to the site with Scully where they find a mysterious ceremony happening. Scully waits outside while Mulder enters where he stumbles across a mysterious chamber and a man who is alive buried in the earth covered in a yellowy substance. Mulder almost becomes the cult's dog meat but escapes only to find Scully being seduced by the same member again. But he is just in time to stop her!

Meanwhile, another attempted murder has happened and they now have a witness to testify. From the information he gives they are almost able to capture the serial killer but the cult appear from nowhere and take him away. They realize that he must have also been a member. They return to the cult's home but find any trace of them has vanished and a mysterious crop circle in the field nearby....

Rating: 6 out of 10
Another episode that just doesn't quite hit the believable scale. If we hadn't caught a glimpse of the murderer till the very end, it would have made a much better and tenseful episode. I didn't really think too much of the acting but yet again, the Mulder-Scully interplay is just fantastic! And, we get to see Mulder's reactions to Scully being almost seduced which is one big reason to watch it. It does feature a VERY suprising ending though.
Nitpicking
There doesn't seem to be a single problem with this ep.
