3X21Walter Skinner is accused of murder when he wakes up in a hotel room next to a prostitute with her neck broken.

Mulder and Scully try their best to clear his name but as they try to get evidence to support their investigation, they instead get increasingly more worried of the fact that he really could have killed the woman when they find that he doesn't remember what happened to the woman, his marriage has just ended in a divorce and he is seeing a psychiatrist for a sleep disorder. The only thing that could clear his name is something paranormal, the old woman that visits him at night. The problem being that someone at the government is framing Skinner to try to get him fired.

Rating: 7 out of 10
At last, we have an episode revolving around Skinner. It's a great chance to see what he is really like and although the script may not be too strong, the character development is and we finally get a glimpse into his life. David and Gillian both put in great performances as well demonstrating their relationship with Skinner and how they've come to trust, respect him and think of him as a friend. All of this makes the episode so much better and believeable than it would have been without.
Nitpicking
We learn in this episode that Skinner has a wife. Where was she then when Skinner was put in hospital just a few weeks earlier after being shot?
